advice on starting Preschool?

Maria Bengston: Just be aware that he will be coming home more often with pink eye, cough, running nose. I'm not trying to scare you, but no matter how well you take care of your little guy, sadly, he will catch everything from everybody else. As they get older, their bodies can fight off a cold all by themselves.I think preschool is a great foundation to prepare them for Kindergarten. He will learn to listen, follow instructions, obey classroom rules, write his name, interact with other children, work on his motor skills and much more. Take lots of pictures and save his art work, Valentine cards, awards/certificates, report cards. This would be a great time for you to start a scrapbook of his Preschool year! From mom to mom, enjoy his special year ... I wish I can go back....Show more

Hobert Dula: Keep Pedobear AWAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY from him.

Fritz Hawkey: Most preschools strongly recommend (some require) that your child knows these things as a minimu! m:how to zip, snap, put on coat by him/her selfare potty trainedhow to tie his/her shoesknow how to say his/her nameknow how to follow and understand simple instructionssit at a table and eat/feed him/her selfThere are a few other things but, can't remember them all....Show more

Lue Podewils: Actually...my piece of advice is to remember that it's usually much harder on the parent than the child.Preschools should NOT be having any set expectations for the students as they enter into their class. Some require the child to be potty trained (and that is understandable) but they should be helping to teach the children right along with the parents the self-care, independence, correct social behaviors. That is what preschool is about! :-) So no worries about what your child can or cannot do. The preschool teachers will help you with any concerns you might have with your child's development. Please keep a communication line open. Remember that teachers and parent working! together provide the best for the child!...Show more
