Any toy stores in San Francisco?

King Bringle: Head over the GG Bridge to Marin County & the mega-malls, & you'll find everything you need or don't need. Look out! They'll take your money (in a spending kind of way). Otherwise, I don't think of the stores in SF as being giant, but then I'm not native to there. With real estate being so high, they're less likely to have a lot of giant malls in the city. You could see if some of the museums & science museums in The City have some sort of learning toys in their gift shops that would also be unique and/or artistic. Or go to China Town & get something unusual there in an ethnic sort of way, for all different ages. Wherever you go, I think if you stop people to ask, particularly those with children in tow, you'll find that people like to be helpful.Besides the toy stores, bookstores & craft stores might also have something like origami kits or Prismacolor colored pencils & mandala coloring books if the kids happen to be older.I hope you get a bit of a break in! the weather on Monday. I really had planned on getting out in search of a calendar & appointment book today, but stayed home just watching the heavy rain & wind from inside & from the porch. Has cleared for the moment, but we'll see. S'posed to rain all week. Be sure to take your umbrella. That's it! Maybe you could buy some kiddie umbrellas. Even the health food store has them for sale hanging from the ceiling. I've had my eye on a ruffled purple one for a little girl. Or you might prefer the one with jungle animals. Seems like we need a whole wardrobe of umbrellas....Show more

Lynn Hollars: Kids in San Francisco are beyond that...they want an iPad.
