how do you install a car audio battery please help!?

Miguel Densley: i wouldnt get an extra battery i would just get one really good battery like a 1900-2200 amp battery for your car audio because 2 batteries is harder on the alternator but how you would do it is1.get 2 thick gauge wires and hook one up from the + of your normal battery to the + of your audio battery and the other one the - of your normal battery to the - of your audio battery.2.hook your amp straight up to your audio battery and hook everything else up how you normally would.but like i said its not a very good idea for the alternatorbut hope i helped...Show more

Nannie Kasee: A second battery is never a good idea as it's an added strain on the alternator to charge two batteries AND supply power for the car. The ONLY time a second battery is useful is if the audio system is to be used with the car off.If you need more power, get a bigger alternator as it is the power plant of the car. Also upgrade the "Big 3" - that is to replace the power wire betwee! n the battery and alternator, the ground from the battery to the chassis and the ground strap from the engine/tranny to the chassis with at least 1/0 AWG wire....Show more
